Hello ,
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things am instructed both to be full and to be hungry,
both to abound and to suffer need.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Phillipians 4:11-13
Over the years, I've struggled with that word "all" in the verses to Phillipians 4:11-13.
"All" encompasses some pretty large territory in our lives, and we are quite often tempted to change that word to "some." It's important to remember Who it is that gives us the strength.
The strength doesn't come from trying harder. It doesn't come from pulling ourselves up by our own boot-straps. Giving effort has value, but that's not where our strength comes from.
Only Jesus can give us the strength that we need to do ALL things.
Total trust in Christ and HIS abilities to give us strength doesn't come from us.
It comes from Him.
Have a great day and God bless!
