Hello ,
Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done
through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Philipians 2:1-4
When I was making my way back to the Lord, I would often show up at the church that I was attending and say something that wasn't
particularly correct.
Worse yet, some of the things that I said were downright stupid. There was an elderly woman who attended that church that was one of the greeters at the front door. I don't recall what I said one day, but I do recall that it wasn't a particularly brilliant statement.
I'll never forget what happened. This dear woman put her hand on my forearm and said something that stopped me in my tracks. "God loves you, Mike. I'm so glad that you're here."
She didn't argue.
She didn't try
to be right.
She didn't belittle my poor choice of words.
She proclaimed her care for me.
Her words were
SO disarming that they took my breath away, and I quietly made my way into church without another word.
What we do matters.
What we say matters.
May God lead and guide our words and actions!
Have a great day and God bless!
