Hello ,
My wife,
Roberta and I were excited at the prospect of traveling to Germany in 2011, but also knew that we would need to purchase a number of things specifically for that trip.
Wall plugs in Germany are different than the ones
we have in the U.S. so we purchased an adapter that would allow us to use our phone charge cords, and still plug into the power source that would rejuvenate the batteries.
I was reminded of the Christian’s need to plug into
God’s abundant surge of spiritual electricity.
“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.”
There are a number of ways to plug into the divine power source that we need everyday.
Prayer, meditation, and Bible study are great ways to tap into God’s divine “current,” and we’re invited to power-up by using these (and other methods). My goal for The Open Word has always been to draw
people towards a saving relationship with Jesus Christ, and I have always hoped that it would be an effective method for "plugging in" that people could effectively use in their personal lives.
Only as we try to live in our own power, do we
recognize that there isn’t enough “juice” to keep us moving forward in this life.
God, and God alone had the spiritual spark that we each so desperately crave.
Have a great day and God bless!
Pastor Mike / The Open Word
