Hello ,
So
they again called the man who was blind, and said to him, “Give God the glory! We know that this Man is a sinner.” He answered and said, “Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.”
John 9:24-25
I absolutely love this story, and I encourage you to go to John 9
and read it in its entirety. The
Pharisees were always attempting to discredit Jesus, His power, and His influence in their region. The man in the story had been healed of blindness, and the Jews did everything they could do to try to get some sort of "angle" on Jesus that could shed some negative light on Him.
They had already asked the former
blind-man's thoughts regarding this Jesus of Nazareth, and the man hadn't given them the answer that they wanted. They then went to his parents and asked them about everything.
The parents (for whatever reason), skirted answering the question regarding the healing that had taken place. All they would say
is, "Yes, that's our son...and yes, he was born blind." They then encouraged the Jews to talk again to the son directly.
They went back to the former blind-man and tried to get him to say something derogatory regarding Jesus. His answer was so simple, so straight-forward, and so clear that it couldn't be
misunderstood. He (in effect) said, "I don't know any of the stuff that you're talking about. All I know is, I was blind and now I see."
Priceless!
In the final analysis, the most powerful message that we can ever share with another human being is the message of our own experience with Jesus. One of the most beloved hymns (if not THE most beloved hymn), has this very message at the core of it.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
That
saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
Was
blind but now I see
Today, you may have the opportunity to share a message of hope with another fellow human. Don't sweat your inability to explain every nuanced
doctrine or belief by quoting the scriptures in a sterile way. Simply tell the story of what Jesus has done for you. It's the most powerful and potent message that you can share, because it's difficult to argue with someone's life-changing experience.
Have a great day
and God bless!
