Hello ,

"Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others."  

Phillipians 2:3-4

It's SO incredibly difficult for anyone to esteem others better than themselves. We are born with such selfish human tendencies, that it can be downright challenging to think past our wants, needs, and desires. 

We don't set out to be this way, it's part of our inheritance as members of the human race.

The change must come from the inside-out; there is no other option if we are to fulfill God's plan for our lives, and for reaching out to others with His love.
