Hello ,
"Those flowers aren't going to water themselves!"
That's a thought that I frequently have after a hard day on the road. I look at the flower pots that line our porch and deck. I love looking at the beautiful blooms contained in each container, but I have to admit that there are evenings when I don't feel like tending to them.
That's when this little thought comes to my mind, because I recognize that (as beautiful as they are), those flowers depend on a source outside of themselves to make sure that they are hydrated.
"And why are ye anxious concerning raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to-day is, and to-morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little
faith?"
Our dependance on a power outside of ourselves is imperative to a relationship that's rich, deep, and spiritually hydrated. If we're depending on ourselves to stay spiritually "healthy," we're dipping from an empty well.
Have a great day and God bless!
