Hello ,
"Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.” Luke 7:50
The verse is short, but powerful. Jesus is speaking of someone who has blown it (in a big way), with life choices. Let me encourage you to read the entire chapter of Luke 7 for context, and this story comes to life in a dramatic way.
Notice that Jesus didn't say to the woman, "Your good works have saved you." Her "good works' weren't anything to write home about. She had blown it in a myriad of ways.
He didn't utter a single phrase about having all her theological "ducks" in a row, either. We're not told about all of her belief systems in this passage, and whether (or not), those belief systems could be passionately argued in a public arena of knowledgeable theologians.
Instead, Jesus says something simple, profound, and powerful.
"Your Faith"
This woman's faith in something outside of herself made all the difference, and it showed in her countenance, her devotion, and her willingness to show her face in a crowd (despite her immense shame).
In the final analysis, it is our faith in something outside of ourselves that will take us across the finish line and into eternity.
Have a great day and God bless!
