Hello ,
Hollywood is replete with movies that characterize real strength as the ability to avenge any injustice that may have happened in one's life.
Many popular films involve someone who was once in a position of weakness avenging the wrong-doing of a much stronger perpetrator. Crowds have been known to cheer (loudly) when the victim makes the wrong-doer pay dearly for their destructive decisions.
The dictionary describes this word, "mercy" the following way:
mercy - compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm.
Jesus exemplified what mercy looks like as He hung on the cross and asked His Heavenly Father to forgive those who were crucifying Him, and only by being connected to Him will we be able to imitate such love and compassion towards those who have hurt us.
It's a divine quality that can only come from a changed heart.
Have a great day and God bless!
