I am having some technical issues, and some of you have noticed that I skipped Day #3, and Day #6 in the "7 days of gifts"  sequence that I have been sending out.  I am including Day #6 in this note to you, and I am still digging for Day #3 which I have written (but for some reason I cannot find it).  Please pray for my search, and I will pray for you and your family during this holiday season.  --Pastor Mike

Day #6 - The Gift of a New Heart

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"  Jeremiah 17:9

There is nothing that we can do about the above verse in and of ourselves....NOTHING!  We can't pull ourselves up by our own boot-straps and give it the "old college try."  We can't pretend that it doesn't exist.  We can't "straighten" ourselves out with this or that "positive mental attitude" seminar.  

We're stuck!

Unless someone comes in and changes things around FOR us, we're going to stay in the same spiritual shape that we came into the world with...selfish, wicked, and lost.

God to the rescue!

"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36:26

God performs something that we cannot do for ourselves...in us.  What an amazing gift; what an amazing God.
