Hello ,

"To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing."  Martin Luther

What do you think about this quote from Martin Luther?  My wife and I have had the privilege of attending a church where Martin Luther was the pastor (in fact, I have stood in the pulpit where he preached).

Being a Christian in North America today...(it would seem), is almost NOTHING like being a Christian when Luther was alive. Even just attending his church was a real eye-opener.  The building has no heat...and in the winter months (I was there in January), I could see my breath as we all sang "A Mighty Fortress is Our God" together in the sanctuary of that old building.

I can only imagine how important prayer must have been for Martin Luther...and there are times that we forget that prayer is absolutely vital to the Christian walk...no matter what century we're living in. One of my favorite Christian authors puts it this way:

"Prayer is the breath of the soul. It is the secret of spiritual power. No other means of grace can be substituted and the health of the soul be preserved." Ellen White, (Prayer)

The following, is a question that you don't need to answer to me, but I would challenge to ask it of yourself:  How is your prayer life?

We cannot be TOO busy to pray...and keep our spiritual vitality at the same time. "pray without ceasing," 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Even though this verse is only three words in length, this verse packs a punch.

Prayer is powerful...

Have a great day and God bless!
