Your Open Word e-Devotional for October 27th

Published: Tue, 10/27/15

Hello ,

C.S. Lewis says the following:

What would really satisfy us, would be a God who said of anything we happened to like doing, "What does it matter so long as they are contented?" We want, in fact, not so much a Father in Heaven as a grandfather in heaven—a senile benevolence who, as they say, "liked to see young people enjoying themselves," and whose plan for the universe was simply that it might be truly said at the end of each day, "a good time was had by all."

Life is tough...sometimes it's even tougher than we imagined it could be.  If you're anything like me; you truly don't like the difficult parts.  When it comes to the mountains and valleys of life...I'd MUCH rather live on the mountain-tops.

We are not always spared the tough times; in fact some days it might seem as though our lives are more "downs," than "ups."  God never promised smooth sailing, but He did promise to remain with us through the struggles.

Lord, help me to trust you more...in Jesus name, amen!

Have a great day and God bless!
