Hello ,
Brene' had no idea that researching the topic of "shame" would take her into her own personal, private hell. She came to recognize that feelings of shame that people have, may well be
the epidemic of our time. If you have ever experienced feelings of shame, regret, and personal defeat, then you know exactly what I am talking about.
I am not only a pastor who sends out these e-Devotionals to hundreds of people every morning, but I am also a person who has dealt with his own share of
shame, remorse, and deep frustration over my past. Brene's discoveries really hit home with me, and I am more convinced than ever before, that if people had a way of dealing with their shame, that life for them would be happier, peaceful, and more productive.
About 4 months ago, I spoke on the topic of shame to the
congregation where I am privileged to be a pastor. I delved into Brene's research and shared the two words that every person is wanting to hear in their lives when they struggle with their past. The Bible has a story of someone who was so challenged with their past life of mistakes, that it seemed as though the rest of society would never let it go. I was privileged to connect the dots of this story to the research that Brene' confirmed.
If you have ever struggled with feelings of shame and regret, you understand just how debilitating it can be. My topic "Shame OFF You!" was recorded the day I presented it, and I am making it available to the public in CD or digital track formats.
There's certainly no pressure to purchase this message, but it is available if you would like to listen to it yourself, or you know someone who would benefit from listening to it.
