Hello
In April 2012 Time magazine ran a cover story titled "Heaven Can't Wait: Why rethinking the hereafter could make the world a better place." In the next
issue, Time printed a letter to the editor from Marc Herbert from Walnut Creek, California, who wrote:
Your story [about heaven] says that 85 percent of Americans believe in heaven. That's incredible. They think of heaven as quiet and peaceful, with no need to do anything. [That] sounds pretty dull to me. What do you do with all of that free time? And it goes on forever and ever!*
Why do we often try to bring divine things down to our level? Why do we often insist on creating a place in our own minds that doesn't truly reflect what the scriptures tell us about heaven?
But as it is written: "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him." 1
Corinthians 2:9
I don't pretend to know about everyone reading this e-Devotional, but I have a fairly VIVID imagination...and yet the scriptures tell me that I haven't even scratch the surface of thought when it comes to what God is preparing.
Every time I think about spending eternity in a place like this, I stand humbled and amazed at what God can
do. Let me challenge you to stop what you are doing for a few moments and spend the next five minutes thinking about heaven.
Have a great day and God bless!
