Hello ,
The picture above is of the fitness center that resides in the town where I work. It's a state-of-the-art facility in every way,
and I'm privileged to be a member of it. The cost is super reasonable for a family membership, and we have access to so many things in this health and fitness facility. Here is a list of options that we have available to us as a family:
- Three glass-wall racquetball courts
- 8 basketball courts with state-of-the-art flooring
- A swimming pool with lap lanes, lazy river, water slides, and water park
- An indoor track for running and walking
- An amazing free weight lifting room
- Two different groups of various muscle isolation machines
- Hot steam rooms
- A large variety of bikes, stair-steppers, and recumbent machines equipped with cable televisions and live, real-time work-out reports.
- A snack-bar
- Massage rooms
- Health and wellness coaching
There's MUCH more than I have listed here, but you get the idea. They even have a little machine in each of the locker rooms that will spin your bathing suit to remove excess water after you swim. It's quite a health club!
With all the options that I have available to me, one would
think that I would be in this place six days a week, using every piece of equipment, and basking in the glow of my fitness "heaven." Fact is, I stop by the gym for an hour or two, three times a week, and I most often walk the large track, sit in the steam room, and use the showers. Everything else the gym has to offer awaits me, but I rarely use the other things that are there.
Spiritual application? I
recently thought about how many "heavenly" options that we could be tapping into. In God's world, the word "impossible" doesn't exist.
"For with God, nothing shall be impossible." Luke 1:37
Why do I limit God based on my "ideas" of what He can do? Why do I allow myself to sometimes stay at a distance from
His power, when all of heaven waits to answer my call for help?
"Lord, expand the "territory" of my understanding, and help me to allow Your power in my life today. In Jesus name, amen!"
Have a great day and God bless!
