Hello ,

Terence E. Johnson tells of a Christmas play in which eight-year-old Anne played the wise men. She stalked across the room as if she were riding a camel, bowed to Mary, to Joseph, to the angel, and then announced: "I am all three wise men. I bring precious gifts: gold, circumstance and mud."

Johnson then ends: "Gold, circumstance, and mud: That pretty well describes our condition, doesn't it? Enmeshed in a materialism, which all but chokes to death the breath of the spirit; victimized by circumstances which so often are far different from what we might wish; and with the mud of divisions, injustices, war, loneliness and despair splattered all over the good intentions of our better selves. Gold, circumstance and mud."*

Have good spiritual intentions in your life been less and desirable?  At the end of the day, have you taken a hard look at what you bring to the Lord, only to feel like you've come up painfully short...one more time?

When I keep my eyes fixed on myself, I honestly don't see how someone like me could ever be saved.

When I keep my eyes fixed on Jesus and His love for me, I can see into an eternity filled with love, acceptance, and grace.

Jesus - The Author and Finisher of my faith!

How is it with you today?  Do you often feel like the things you bring to Christ don't amount to much?  It's normal to feel that way, but please recognize that Christ doesn't expect you to make yourself perfect.

His job is to refine you.

Your job is to ask for the strength to step into the fire.

Have a great day and God bless!
