Hello ,

While I was growing up,  one of my favorite activities was listening to music on our family's record player.  We had a large "console" record player that looked like a piece of furniture, and sported a radio, turntable, and speakers in one large, square, wooden cabinet that sat in the corner of our living room.  (Kind of like the one in the picture above).

My dad and mom enjoyed the smooth voice of singer Jim Reeves, and we had a number of his gospel albums...(and some of Jim's Country and Western albums) in the collection as well.  I enjoyed laying next to that stereo and listening to Mr. Reeves songs, and "We Thank Thee" was my favorite.  The album cover photo below is also a link if you would like to be taken to a Youtube to listen to this old song.  Please feel free to click it, relax, and listen.

Here are the lyrics to this wonderful old song:

We thank Thee each morning for a newborn day

where we may work the fields of new mown hay

We thank Thee for the sunshine

and the air that we breathe

Oh Lord we thank Thee

We thank Thee for the rivers that run all day

we thank Thee for the little birds that sing away

we thank Thee for the trees

and the deep blue sea

Oh Lord we thank Thee

Oh yes we thank Thee Lord

for every flower that blooms

birds that sing, fish that swim

and the light of the moon.

We thank Thee every day

as we kneel and pray

that we were born with eyes

to see these things.

We thank Thee for the fields

where the clovers grow

we thank Thee for the pastures

where the cattle may roam

We thank Thee for Thy love so pure and free

Oh Lord we thank Thee.

Oh yes we thank Thee Lord

for every flower that blooms

birds that sing, fish that swim

and the light of the moon.

We thank Thee every day

as we kneel and pray

that we were born with eyes

to see these things.

We thank Thee for the fields

where the clovers grow

we thank Thee for the pastures

where the cattle may roam

We thank Thee for Thy love so pure and so free

Oh Lord we thank Thee.

What would it be like if we actually took the time each and every day to think about how incredibly blessed we are?  Let me challenge you to do that this morning, and tomorrow, and the next day...

Have a great day and God bless!
