Hello ,

In an article titled "The Joy of Quiet," author Pico Iyer mentions a cliff-top room in Big Sur where people pay $2,285 a night partly for the privilege of not having a TV in their rooms. Iyer comments:

"The future of travel, I'm reliably told, lies in "black-hole resorts," which charge high prices precisely because you can't get online in their rooms. Has it really come to this? In barely one generation we've moved from exulting in the time-saving devices that have so expanded our lives to trying to get away from them-often in order to make more time. The more ways we have to connect, the more many of us seem desperate to unplug. Like teenagers, we appear to have gone from knowing nothing about the world to knowing too much all but overnight." *

Is it possible that Christians have become so busy, so caught up in the "rat-race" of life, that we need to be proactive in our approach to coming back to the quiet?  We don't need to rent a posh hotel room to find this quiet...God can help us discover our "quiet place" right near where we currently reside (where ever that may be).

Let me challenge you to really think and pray about this subject.  Ask God to show you how you can include more quiet time in your life...if it's needed.  I'll be praying for you today. :)

Have a great day and God bless!
